This morning 25th March, 2017 around 5:30AM my friend who is a motto mechanic I have known him for a period of 3 months walked into my room in the same guest house, he wanted to charge his phone so he could go online because his charger got bad the previous evening. After sitting with me for some time about 30 minutes he noticed my alarm started ringing from my phone and he shouted ” Oh my God, this guy, you woke up before your alarm, that means you are more than the alarm”. We all started laughing, i thought he was joking with his exclamation but i noticed he was so serious when he started asking questions.

Few minutes later he asked ” But why will you get up so early and even before your alarm when sleep is so sweet and no one is forcing you to go to work but me my “Oga” is expecting me at 6AM?” And i replied ” My dear friend my purpose woke me up, what I was born to do woke me before my alarm, my why I was born is more important, stronger, and sweeter than my sleep” He sat quiet for sometime, then I knew I ignited something in his life already.

Before I continue the encounter with him this morning, the previous evening he came into my room to charge his phone and he asked me ” Do you ever get tired of doing what you do? Because you are always on your laptop typing something, reading from the laptop or reading a book” My reply was ” The body sometimes get tired but the spirit is always on high alert to do more when the body regain strength, my passion and purpose is always hot”

Back to this morning. After a few minutes of his head down, he asked me “What is purpose?” My response was “Purpose is knowing why you are here on earth, your purpose guide life decisions, shape goals, offer a sense of direction and create meaning. Your purpose is unique for you and mine is unique for me because what you identify in your path may be different from others”

He nodded his head and his next question was obvious as i anticipated ” How do I know my true purpose?” My response was ” Discovering your purpose is the easy part the hard part is keeping it with you on a daily basis and working on yourself to the point where you become that purpose, that is by living life with purpose on purpose. Therefore you can know your purpose by
1. Prayerfully Asking God. The best place to begin searching for your life purpose is to go back to your source and that’s God Almighty. Ask Him, He is your Father, He created you for a purpose, ask Him he will reveal your purpose to you
2. Listen to your life. You can also relate to your purpose by looking at your life. What do you hate to see around you, God has already put that burden in your heart to stop that situation, look at your past what are the things you have done that gave you highest satisfaction? What are the things that captivates you? Take your life inventory. Parker Palmer said ” Before I can tell my life what i want to do with it, i need to listen to my life to tell me who i am”

After carefully listening to me he said ” I now understand and see why you get up so early before your alarm and you always sleep late. Thank you so much for telling me this I have never heard something like this. I am doing what am doing today because I hated reading not because it is my purpose but am going to reflect carefully if I need help am definitely rushing back to you because the way you explained it, you are a qualified person to go to with matters like this. Best of the day sir”

And I replied ” A better day for you Sir, am right here to help you in anyway please do have my card feel free to give me a call”

And my morning started in such a wonderful way. Praise God Almighty
